A while ago, I noticed how the sunset outside of my studio was creating interesting lighting effects. I took a picture with my phone thinking there is something cinematic about it. Halfway between a romantic scene and the darker, dismal atmosphere of the twilight.

I started sketching something and figured out it would be nice to mix both the romance and the dismal feelings. So I thought, what about drawing a couple? One of them could appear in the mirror and they would stare at each others with surprise and kindness. This combination would add a surreal or philosophical touch to the scene.

While working on the color palette, I wanted to find that subtle touch that would make it look vivid and lively. The color palette wasn't too hard to find but it took me much longer to find the precise nuances that fit altogether and bring the spark!

And voilà! The final project in acrylic painting :) The light of the sun is reflecting on the wall. At this moment, the women appear in the mirror and stare at her boyfriend. This a synchronicity!
