This project was a family collaboration! My 6 year old son Flynn’s teacher and one-to-one classroom assistant have done amazing work this year to help him make progress at school, so we wanted to thank them with a very “Flynn” present.
My husband Alex and I used two of Flynn’s drawings to turn into wooden figures. I simplified Flynn’s characters and drew them from different angles so that Alex could carve them. Our daughter Casey provided art direction, gave feedback and ate sweets. We also made packaging for the boxes with some drawings and information by Flynn.
Flynn has announced that he now wants to set up a shop selling Bogey-man™ toys, so we will be giving up our jobs and dedicating our lives to realising his vision. Or not. Most likely not.
