THE KAI KAI KIKI PROJECT

THE KAI KAI KIKI PROJECT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The design concept for this project was to try to find a balance between the loudness of art to mix with the peace that you might need at a working environment. It was very important for me as a designer to make this environment a place where the branding was loud enough as the brand and it’s art. The key for this kind of design is to find a minimal element and give it more character through many textures, shapes and colors . A lot of the furniture in this space is designed by me to show the simplicity of furniture can effect the environment a lot.An example is the chair that is made from line chairs which I made manipulating a shape and turning it in to a comfortable seat.

Layout and Render highlights
BRAIN STROM ROOM
This is where the works will come to relax and create new ideas for their work. This room is designed with a lot of contrasting colors and textures  that the workers can explore. Using different textures and colors can make a space more interactive therefore making it a space where people think and create ideas.

RECEPTION
Made with very playful shapes is supposed to make the customers feel more welcome and less strict. By using these colours and shapes it gives the impression of youthfulness and ease. Custom furniture is included in the lounge area to really give a sense of youthfulness into the reception.

READERS DOZEN
The readers dozen is where you read about the artist t ha t Kai Kai kiki reprints and what kind of work they do. They’re referred as the reader dozen because Kai Kai kiki works with a lot of artists

COLLIDE
The collide is the one of the lounge areas where you get to keep your personal belongings and rest while you’re at it.This is where your personal life meets your work life, therefore collide. The collide is made to represent the Takashi Murakamis fondness of bringing your personal life into your work life.

LIGHTING BOLTS
This is the marketing department. This department is referred to as the lighting bolts because they’re the creative team. The working stations are custom made for the space to provide a more unique work experience. Another thing worth mentioning is the separation panels  on the work desk as a safety measure for the current circumstances.

SERENITY
It’s important to feel calm and present in a workspace
The artificial light replicating day light will help the workers feel as if they’re outside without having to go outside. The greenery of the tree brings fresh air and remind the works of outside.
RESEARCH
This is a compilation of research that I did to know more about Takashi Murakami in depth. In order to design a space where his work will be displayed I did a throughout research about his style and what kind of environment he would like. From this I found of a lot of personal things about him and also a vast number of work that he is involved in. Based on all of this information I have complied a good amount of research.
