The Chilcotin Wilderness

The Chilcotin Wilderness

An adventure always starts with "where are we going?", With the covid it was a bit more complicated but we all had a big desire : exploring a really wild place, surpassing yourself, finding inspiration for new photos, new drawings. After some researches on google maps and forums, our choice turned to South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park, 350km north of Vancouver. A remote park where we hiked during 6 days and 100km with our 18kg backpacks and food supplies. We went from dense forests to high altitude mountains and beautiful lakes. A perfect playground for taking pictures. Fortunately we were able to catch and eat some wild trouts at the end :)

Directly after the forest we were stocked by the colours of the mountains.
Anthony looking at the compass on the phone and the map at the same time, we were lost and went a little to down in the valley while searching for the lake next to Mount Sheba.
Finally found the lake at the 2350m high next to the big Mount Sheba (2600m).
Crazy Milky Way up in the mountains.
Mount Sheba at 2600m, unfortunately we were unable to hike to the very top of it but still, the views at 2550m were unforgettable.
We hiked down the around 1500m to camp at Spruce Lake for our last night, we brought one fishing rod and some lures and caught and eat 5 delicious trouts.
Thank you for watching, a short movie of the trip is coming soon, stay tuned ;)
