Insectponics is a device/structure that combines insect breeding and hydroponic vertical farming. The reason these two aspects synergize is because cricket (and many other insects') feces have an exceptional NPK count (Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium) which makes for a very rich fertilizer.
The central concept was to collect the feces from the cricket cages into a tube that would diffuse the feces into the water that flows through the hydroponic system.
Another aspect of insect breeding and hydroponic farming that synergize is that the leftovers from the harvested vegetable (such as the leafy part of a carrot) can be recycled as cricket feed.
These elements create a highly efficient system that leaves almost no waste.
