StandX is a stand for laptops and notebooks. It will be made of Extended polystyrene (EPS). This material is light, portable and cheap. Why “X”? X-construction is stable and X shapes provoke association with quickness. The product is targeted at young people who play games. At this moment, there is a test model coming into production at the “Invision” company. The company is specialized in producing polystyrene arch, columns, capitals, cornices and inscription.

The shape in the front is a result from a frequent placing of hands during the laptop exploitation.

The first version of the stand was dismissed because the surface which was in contact with a computer was too large. This blocks ventilation. In the final design the contact zone is minimal. There is a contact with the laptop/notebook only in three points – two in the end of X and a longer one in the base. The main reason for the laptop overheating is the poor ventilation.
