Ko-Tak Datang Raya
A personal project initiated during the pandemic with the intention to connect family and friends during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, without physically meeting each other.
Inspired by daily little things like the temperature stickers we receive when entering buildings, olden days tradition of exchanging Kad Raya, and the lines from the Hari Raya staple, ketupat.
The thing about Kad Raya is that, with technology, it became e-cards and while the tradition of exchanging messages to each other remains, the essence of it is almost lost. Bearing in mind that most of the time, post-raya, those cards are either thrown away or kept somewhere collecting dust, I designed my Kad Raya on a piece of seed paper, where you can opt to plant the seed paper & it will grow into a (basil/wildflower) plant!
Other items in the box also includes the Bunga Api, Biskut Pelangi, Sarung Tisu made from batik & songket scraps, Permainan Lego to fill time and a Pasu Bunga to be used to plant the seeds.
