MS ARTVILLE / 2021
After six years i`ve returned to the MS Artville in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg after i was asked by a friend if i`m in for some live painting on the opening day, which was saturday the 17.07.21. I asked my fella Jan Vismann to join the fun and out of a selection of different objects that were offered we`ve picked the smallest one, which was this shack.
We`ve seen the shack only on a photo before and the first time for real on the opening day. The time period to paint was limited from 12:00 noon to 23:00 in the evening. The shack had a very poor white coating that was crumbeling like a nice cake already and to give it a new coating would have blown up our timeline.
We`ve planned to do freestyle illustrations with a mix of spraycan and brushed outlines. The clear layout of the shack with it`s separated rectangular areas came in very handy to us. So there we were, freestyling through the day and doing our thing. It was an very exhausting day, but we`ve been in good company with a lot of other artists and guests of the festival. I would have wished for two days more to paint and make this a real burner, but the perfectionist can`t always be pleased ;).
