ARGO / Our proposal for Çuhadaroğlu Student Competition "Architectural Workshop" / 2019 - Karaköy Perşembe Pazarı .

“Argo (slang) is nothing more nor less than changing room where language, having some dirty deed to do, disguises itself. It puts on word-masks and ragmetaphors.” Victor Hugo.

The forgotten and discredited embracing “ARGO” is the common language of the struggle.Argo reproduces with reference to the essence of the place.Galata Perşembe Pazarı,where the foundations of the workshops and industrial synergy were laid, is dying out with oblivion and neglect and it is waiting for the “ARGO” layer that will embrace it.The proposal that  taking its strength from the workshops of the bazaar, aims to use the new to reveal the forgotten.It is aimed to mobilize the decreasing industrial production in the bazaar and to organize the functional stratification of the space.It is intended to give reference to the intervention strategies of the market with micro-scale innovations.With the add-on that appeared on Kurşunlu Han, it is aimed to create the silent scream of all PERPA. Form; It references the wild and haphazard growth of the ivy in the inn's courtyard.
