This is a stippling I did of the late Justin Bowman. Justin was a great brother to my wife and a we were also developing a great friendship. I'm sad I did not get the chance to know him as a brother, but I am glad I got to know him for the four years I did.
This stippling was a present to his parents for the first Christmas he was absent. I wanted to show my appreciation for Justin and the Bowman family so I worked hard do Justin justice.
For this stippling I referenced a photo of Justin and started off sketching lightly with a pencil. After I was pleased with the sketch, I used an ultra fine tip sharpie to create each individual dot. The process is long, but more relaxing that I thought it would be. It is very exciting to see the piece slowly come together.
