The Oscars Nominations - Keynote Presentation

About one month before the actual Oscars broadcast, there is a 7-minute press conference where all the nominees for each category are announced. This is broadcast live through a number of media channels. In 2010, I had the good fortune of knowing the right people at the right moment and I was asked to create this presentation as a favor because their long standing regular artist had taken ill. in 2011 he retired and I've been creating it ever since. My job is to take their thematic look for the year and create complimentary animation and layouts to match the style. I create this in Keynote for two reasons. One, the show needs to be easy to program with the actual final content (which withheld until only a few hours before broadcast) - and two, in a live situation Keynote is rock solid. Embedded into the 2013 presentation were a number of video based title graphics to help upscale the look. The show is presented on a large 9ft x 16ft LED panel. My samples are from the dress rehearsal deck which uses the previous years nominees.
