Big ads. Little budget.

Over the years, we’ve created campaigns for huge global corporations. Their budgets were, well, very nice. The accountants loved it!

But, what about the little guy who is trying keep their business afloat? Who works with them? A nephew who took a marketing class? Or, an in-law who is kinda “artsy”?

When I first moved to the Bay Area, I was freelancing at a very large San Francisco ad agency (can’t name names). I over heard an employee shout, “If these guys don’t have Ah-Million N' half budget, they should go someplace else!”
Wow. And, that was back-in-the-day when a Million dollars was a serious Million.
Then one day over lunch, another creative guy told me, "The more money I get, the more creative I am."
Really?

I must like swimming upstream, I actually enjoy working with clients with tiny budgets.
Really.
Here are a series of small ads for clients who deserve attention and a serious creative effort. These are small space ads needing to stand out among the noise. Four-colors or full page spreads? Nope.
Slick videos? No. Crazy cool visuals from super cool artist. Not even.
Although we didn’t get much in the way of pocket money, we did win a few awards.
Our accountant Debbie said, "Awards? That's it??!! Well Rick, aren’t you special."
Geez.
