BABY TRACK ®
"You can track everything'': The only one app you'll need to care for your little baby!
Sector: Baby Development & Tracker App
Location: USA
The first months of having a baby are rough and there isn’t any technology to put your baby to sleep instantly, and that’s why we obsess over and set a goal enhancing the redesign of a baby tracker app experience for parents.

Having an easy-to-use interface, BabyTrack® makes it simple to log all aspects of your newborn's care and view entries from current and prior days. You can track daily information about your baby: feeding, diapers, sleep, activities, pumping, symptoms, temperature, medication. BabyTrack® also offers a timer to track nursing duration, naps, activities, feeding sessions.

Mobile App User Flow

BabyTrack® an elegant app that makes tracking breastfeeding a cinch, with perks. The feed timer gives you 'left' and 'right' buttons (large buttons, thank goodness, so they’re easy to hit if you’re simultaneously cycling the baby through different feed positions).

Substantially  — designed entirely with love and for breastfeeding mothers who want to track when and for how long their baby feeds, including a useful reminder for when a feed is due. It even tells you which breast to start on!

Baby Feed Timer does it all for you!

Tracks breastfeeds, bottle feeds, breast pumps, diapers, sleep, medication, solid food, baby's weight and baby's length. You can also make notes (ideal for recording baby's temperature and medicine given) and set notifications/alerts.

You can even synchronize the data across different phones (both iPhones and other phones) and view your data online at babyfeedtimer.net, making it easy to share baby's day with your partner or carer.

Quickly log data about baby from your Apple Watch. You don't even need to get your phone out of your pocket. Data is analyzed ready for you and your paediatrician and shows daily, weekly and monthly averages.

Baby Track: "Being a great parents!''

Babies go through many firsts, which are exciting events that you'd most likely want to remember. Baby Tracker lets you take a picture of your newborn to preserve memories from your baby's everyday life and fill up a book of moments from your mobile device that you can share with family and friends.

Our main goal was to design an app dedicated to helping all parents by building great experiences that are powerful, simple, reliable, and fun. That's why we take extra care in creating our apps ‒ marrying robust tools, functionality, and content with clean and adorable design. Our engaging app does the hard work every day, so you can focus on the most important job of all: being great parents!

See baby's day at a glance and spot trends quickly with easy-to-read charts.

Easy to read charts displaying analyzed data, as well as a timeline view so you can see emerging trends, such as baby feeding or sleeping at the same time every day. This also helps to show days when baby is acting differently such as more dirty diapers than usual. View how long you have fed your baby for that day. Particularly useful for mothers who are monitoring if baby is feeding enough.

In-app recommendations & Tips

Recommendations allow an in-app to use machine learning to intelligently serve the most relevant content for each user. They take into account past user behavior to suggest the app's content the user might like to interact with in the future by using a model trained on the aggregate behavior of a large number of other users.

User-centered Wiget

In the art and science world of user interface (UI) design, the first law we consider — almost the only "law" that gets invoked in our still too subjective practice is Fitts's Law: The time to acquire a physical target is a function of the size of that target and its distance.

In the first place, much of the usability widgets are concerned with selecting — both cognitively and physically the correct item from a screenful of icons, links, menu items, and other virtual objects.
In the second place, we believe strongly that the next step for the field of usability/user-centered design/user experience is a move toward better quantification, better empirically based decision-making regarding the design of UI's.

The implications for and the applications of these fundamentals of UI design have been unmistakable. Commonly needed buttons and other widgets should be larger and nearer the top or nearer that point at which the cursor likely resides immediately preceding this need.Less common acts that might be expected to take longer can be completed by acquiring clicking on — smaller, more remote targets.

Done and done, as they say. We didn't fight the law, and the law (and users) won. Woohoo! ;)

Conclusion about the project

Tracking: 3 week 14 days / 214 hours

The our quintessence of approach to human interaction with technology embodied in the ui design of Baby Track has been to emphasize the physical features of the technology. In contrast, as we have moved toward a focus on user experience, various aspects of users' motivation, cognitive abilities, and tasks deserve greater attention in the development of scientific models and their application in the design of interfaces.

The research described in this report identifies one aspect of user motivation—avoiding penalties—that influences the speed with which users move objects in an interface. As we and others go forward with this research and discover specific improvements Baby tracker with certain punishments associated with certain target sizes and distances, our work will inform product design more richly as we take costs of errors into account. We invite you to the discovery of this and other user-focused factors that affect movement and other elements of interaction with our app design.

The project was great oportuniity for our team, on the one hand exciting and inspiring but on the other highly complex and painstaking for us. We had an possibility to try out new features, hypotheses, fresh ideas and run into with the future parents of the app onsite, also thoroughly understand their problems. We also received feedback from the client in real-time.
