OPENCAST Short-Arm is a next-generation cast that has various advantages. First of all, the product is easy to cast on any sharps of arms and remove safely without using electric saws. Moreover, it allows patients to take showers with the cast on and doctors can visually check the condition of the skin throughout the treatment. Last but not least, the product can be repeatedly opened and be re-worn as needed.
In this project, I was assigned to do the animation to demonstrate how this product is used on arm. There are several steps in the animation. First, the product will be heated at 90 degrees (Celsius) in 5 minutes to make the cast flexible. After taking out from the heating machine, the product will be molded in the shape of the patient's arm at a warm temperature. Then, a flexy tape is wrapped around to keep the cast in shape.
