We were looking to expand our service offerings and embarked on the 3D photo montage slideshow project to test the wedding market. It combines the skills in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Audacity. A photo is prepared in layers in Photoshop before importing into After Effects 3D space for the individual and combined output into a video. Next, we edited the music (if necessary) in Audacity and then, combine both video and audio in Premiere to be rendered out.
The 3D effect is more prominently seen in the basic slideshow because there is no other camera movement to distract (or rather, trick :p) our eyes into seeing 3D.
If a template (such as this bought from Video Hive) is used, it is best to choose those with as little camera movement as possible so that the viewer can see the 3D effect better.
