About Oko besede 2013
Oko besede (Eye of the word) is an annual meeting of slovenian youth writers. This years theme was the portraiture of poverty in slovenian youth literature. The choice of this particular theme was influenced by the increasingly unstable conditions in the country that's on the verge of a financial breakdown. While I was somewhere halfway through in creating the image, there was a news report on TV, where an elderly couple had to move into a tent in the woods, because they couldn't pay their rent. Although a sad event, it was an interesting coincidence and one of those moments, that makes you think there are some strange connections.
