Watercolor comic book
DI QUA HOA CUC (through the daisy)
The book Through The Daisy is a collection of long stories by Nguyen Nhat Anh, opening the story of the author recounting the innocent childhood of the characters in the story, combined with descriptions of scenes in the countryside, houses located along the road. Pebbles along the two sides of the hibiscus and porcelain trees give shade and fragrance in front of the house. A warm poetic drawing in a remote countryside the author seems to warm the reader's heart. Indeed, each plot of Nguyen Nhat Anh has sketched a sweet homeland, a beautiful childhood, a love of school age mixed with longing love of many ages.
This is a school project for my illustration class. I picked chapters 23, 24, and 25 of the book to illustrate and since the story has a poetic summer vibe, I decided to use watercolors as the main medium to make the comic book. All pages were hand-drawn and scanned on to computer to add additional touches. I hope this comic book of mine will remind you of your childhood in the countryside.
