F1 Indian Grand Prix - Reimagined

CGI

F1 is considered the pinnacle of Motorsport. Twenty of the best drivers and teams battling it out over more than 23 races in multiple countries all over the world.

The Indian Grand Prix held at the intricately designed Buddh International Circuit was considered one of the fastest racing circuits on the calendar. Formula1 took place in India from 2011-2013, Sebastian Vettel was the victor on the track for all three years that it took place.

As an F1 fan and never having the opportunity to witness an F1 race my home country, I decided to come up with a series of images in collaboration with Carlos Colorsponge and Saksham Kumar to depict what the 2020 Indian Grand Prix would look like if it were to take place in India during the pandemic.

Saksham prepped the 3D car models and the textures.
I worked on the composition of the images and explained to Carlos on how I would like to depict the story of each image. He then rendered the F1 cars on to the back-plates of the track that I had shot a while ago.
Once the passes were rendered, the images were retouched to produce the final set.

Carlos being a McLaren fan, Saksham a Ferrari fan and me being a Mercedes fan, it seemed like a great collaboration to showcase some scenarios from the "Imaginary 2020 Indian F1 Grand Prix."

Mercedes Win the Imaginary 2020 F1 Indian Grand Prix
Victory Lap for the Silver Arrows
In 2020 Mercedes AMG F1 came to the racing season with new all black livery instead of their regular silver livery.
To commemorate Lew Hamilton's 7th Title, Carlos and I collaborated to make the black livery possible on the Indian race circuit back-plates
For Hamilton's win at the Turkish GP in the rain, Saksham and I created the "Purple Rain" image, the project can be seen on our profiles.
This series is born out of fiction.
It is a creative collaboration between 3 artists to pay tribute to the 70th Anniversary of what may be considered as the most exciting sport in the world - Formula 1.

It’s an imaginary representation of what could have happened at the Indian Grand Prix if it were to have taken place.
By no means does this series mean any offense to any person or institution, it is just a visual representation of a fantasy.
