SPARKLE
Sparkle is a meticulously crafted electronic lighter with a long handle, designed to make lighting scented candles more practical. Its elongated handle, clear button labels, and battery life indicator make it easy to use and enable users to effortlessly light candles, even when they are almost burnt out.
This design ensures that lighting candles is a smooth and trouble-free experience, allowing users to enjoy their candles without any inconvenience.
The design of this project originated from my observation that many electronic lighters available in the market, which are designed to conveniently ignite scented candles, often appear cheap in their style and surface materials. Additionally, most of them do not align with the aesthetics favored by customers who appreciate scented candles and emphasize a sophisticated home lifestyle.
By researching products from beloved brands and analyzing their CMF compositions, I gain insights into design directions and extract keywords. These keywords are then used to construct a mood board for form design, CMF design, and 3D pattern exploration. Through this process, I discovered that a simple and repetitive wavy three-dimensional pattern, combined with metallic materials, creates a sense of fluidity and elegance. Additionally, the gradually disappearing curved edges serve a functional purpose by indicating the direction of the lid.
