Context:

This work was a school project made during our 2nd year as creative engineering student at the IMAC school. It was our second project in the 3D field, therefore the work is not perfect, however we are very proud to have managed a project of this size. It was the occasion to work on each step of a 3D creative production: brainstorming, writing, moodboard, storyboard, designing, 3D modelling, texturing, animation, lighting.

Inspirations:

We wanted our fictional TV show to take place in a medieval fantastic world. I guess there is no need to present our main inspiration: Game of Thrones. In order to create a meaningful work, we imagined the plot of our fictional TV show and tried to find actors that could fit in the roles. Here is the synopsis we came up with:

“999. As every 6 years, the Corune Tournament must designate the faction that will lead the army, testing each one’s strength and strategy. But how to win a duel that seems to be lost without knowing the underside of the enemy’s strategy? Infiltrated in the Oglan faction, Kiana and Melvin are ready to do anything to reverse the trend and make the Ulhan faction win. Between espionage and treason, who will win this final duel, but above all… at what cost?”

Further details:

As the real deal of the plot would be the duel between two factions and the strategies they use, we decided to illustrate this with a chess game. We combined different types of shots (shots or low-angle-shots) to play with the size of the pieces in order to give a towering impression. To emphasize the majestic feeling, we imagined a sleek design with a marble texture.

To keep a medieval mood, we introduced several objects to represent the characters of the show.
