THE OLD STORY IN A NEW WAY
The Old Story in a New Way is a project that aspires to depict hunting as it is today, in all of its glory and folly. There exists a complex relationship between man and animal sharing terrain, as both struggle to cope with their existence. The hunter is an interesting subject, curious in his desire to possess the elusive and tame the wild. The hunted is intriguing for being thus, elusive and wild. And blood, the inevitable bond between the warring parties and byproduct of the violent act, is the essence of life, and death.

With titles taken from Frederic Remington paintings, these images portray the hunter and the hunted, the predator and the prey, within the parameters of a historic landscape, the American Wild West. Hunting is a way of life that has never been lost here. It harkens back to a time when to hunt meant to live. It calls upon man’s instinct for survival and in this part of the country, where cowboys ride and beasts roam, it is forever intertwined with romantic and tragic tales of heroism and villainy.
