Acrylic on Eucalyptus Bark

One fine evening, I was on a stroll in a park close to my house in the Himalayas! The sun was setting for the day and the breeze, mountain-y and fragrant as ever!

Something caught my eye in the grass. It was a piece of Eucalyptus bark. The first thing that came to my mind was turning it into a piece of art!

And so I did! I started off with water colours and trust me, the bark is better than the expensive water colour sheets! You can start over again and again on the same spot if you make a mistake!

The shedding bark on a eucalyptus tree is one of its most charming features.

As the bark dries and peels, it often forms colorful patches and interesting patterns on the trunk of the tree.

It is a natural process that occurs in all healthy eucalyptus trees. In all types of eucalyptus, the bark dies each year.

In smooth bark types, the bark comes off in flakes curls or long strips.

And in the end, an artist like me collects ounces of natural canvas right from the lap of Mother Nature and gives birth to art!

think these would pass off as aesthetic refrigerator magnets!

What do you think?

Do let me know!
