Goat Yoga Poster Design & Illustration

I had so much fun illustrating and designing this poster for Monument City Brewing Company, in Baltimore MD for their upcoming Goat Yoga event!

My process begins with thumbnail sketches in pencil on paper. Working out ideas, structure and thinking about the layout composition. The creative process can take me anywhere from a doodle on a sticky note to pages and crumbled up balls of paper next to my waste can!!

If you’re a fellow creative, here’s your daily reminder: Trust the process. Good things take time. 🧘‍♀️ Great things aren’t rushed. Explore the possibilities even if this means the price of your design work needs to increase. Remember good design isn’t cheap and cheap design isn’t good. ;)

Combining a few of my design skills: pen and ink illustration and Procreate digital drawing.

The main large goat character is hand drawn on paper with micron pens, then scanned into the computer and enhanced in Photoshop. The lady doing yoga poses were both sketched in pencil then brought into Procreate on my iPad and sketched with True Grit Texture brushes in layers overtop. Then, I exported the art and turned them into vector line art in Adobe Illustrator.

The layout of the poster is composed in Adobe Indesign adding text and graphics. Textures, colors and the illustrations are placed in Photoshop for finessing and then embedded as a psd link in Indesign.

I love combining the art of graphic design and illustration. 🤟🏻
