This project attempted to abstract a portrait and challenge the boundary condition of face-recognition. There were a series of experiments that were focused on disassembling the portrait and designing a new way of drawing to bring it back again, more abstract and more sensible.
Some of the techniques used to base the experimentation were series of dots, lines, halftones. Similarly, the aspects of production that were regarded were airbrush and robotics technique, such as distance, paint thickness, zones and patches.
We decided to stay in the monochrome in order to maintain the attention to the figure.
The following are a series of portraits painted by an airbrush that was connected to a robotic arm.
