Design Variant Covers
Design Variant Covers as part of the design and line-wide brand refresh of Marvel Entertainment's X-Men franchise.
Starting with the franchise relaunch series "House of X" and "Powers of X" the rebrand includes a brand new visual language for the franchise that touches all aspects — from book packaging and publication design, a new X-men master brand mark, a bespoke typeface, to a new suite of logos for the growing range of titles in the franchise. The relaunch initiative — Dawn of X — establishes the new identity for the X-Men line at Marvel, and has since evolved to 'Reign of X' the next ongoing phase of re-establishing the series at the top of the charts.
The Dawn of X Design Variant covers were recognised with an Award of Excellence for Typography from Communication Arts.
