Personal Branding Mistressclass - Brand Image for the Masterclass, Graphic Recording of all the workshops + one hour lesson on inclusive visual communication
During the first half of 2021 I worked with four other experts in communication - Mafe De Baggis, Marina Pierri, Giulia Blasi and Daniela Losini - to develop a masterclass focused on useful skills, tools and techniques for effective communication aimed at women, non-binary and lgbtq+ professionals. It ranged from digital communication to public speaking, from strategic planning to assessing your fees correctly, leading to inclusive writing and inclusive visual design and contents. We called it mistressclass, a tongue-in-cheek twist on masterclass.
I kept the color palette of a previous project we developed together, to mark the continuity of the team. Since I was going to make a graphic recording harvesting of every lesson, I used my own handwriting profusely in the communication, in order to get our prospect attendants to my style of visual recording.

The first round of lessons I was there just as a graphic recorder: I was going to develop a module on inclusive visual communication and inclusive design, and I wanted to gather data on what are the needs that the lesson was going to address.

So the scribing posters I made acted both as a useful tool for the students to remember the topics we touched on during the lessons, and for me to understand better what I need to add on the visual side of communication.

Since Mafe, Marina, Giulia and Daniela are first and foremost professional writers in different capacities - copywriting, journalism, essay writing, novels - the mistressclass was missing a focus on inclusive visual communication, ranging from principles and theory to practical techniques you need to make sure that your visual communication is inclusive both in terms of who is represented in your visual communication and who can enjoy it.
So I developed what I called a "Start kit tool box", ranging from the principles of inclusive design as a framework to design your visual projects, to photo databases to find inclusive pictures, illustrators directories to find content creators to work with, and so on.
The first three round of lessons were live, but we're working on another round of lessons for the second half of the year, and thinking about recording them so the people can watch them and make the exercises at their own pace.
