Orl House

Orl House (House in Orlando) is a project thought for a family of three members on Butler Lake shores.
In order to unify the two main purposes of the design, which are to empower the lakefront view and to protect the house from insolation, the building was implanted with its principal entrance facing north, thus the rear view from social areas remains connected to the lake through a double-height glazed curtainwall which also allows daylight to penetrate into interior spaces. Understanding that transparency also means solar heat gain, in this particular case, orientation of the building is the way out of that problem. East and west façades, from where sun rises and sets respectively, were designed as austere solid walls to prevent insolation.
