Responsibilities for initiative include: project charter creation, submission, and approval. I developed a work stream and road map and then began working with our vendor to analyze the high level issues that we could easily address. For ease of contact, scheduling, and billing, I was able to onboard SME, Perkins Institute as a vendor. I proposed to have our site audited so that we could globally update our code to WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards. I created an internal team of four and work collaboratively with two vendors. Our two vendors and my team are moving through are pain points of accessibility to bring the site to a status so that it is accessible to everyone. We use JIRA and Basecamp as well as Perkins’ own proprietary project management tool to monitor and track our progress. I have also created a process improvement in our work flow, implementing and accessibility is tag that is reviewed by myself as well as our developers and SME. The next phase of this will be to get buy-in from key executives and stakeholders. This is already happening. The intranet stakeholders and IT have reached out about this project as they are interested in integrating it into their work.
