While this problem has seen new heights during the pandemic, the number of households experiencing hardship has been steadily growing for years. Financial concerns coupled with a lack of access to healthy foods are just a few of the
reasons driving negative growth.
While community gardens and grow areas have proven to be a mitigating factor for those that participate, local laws and zoning often make it difficult for those without a traditional “backyard” to secure the space needed to plant a garden.
Dig Inn aims to make gardening accessible to everyone, by connecting those with space with those that would like to use it.
