IBS   SIX PARAMITAS NOTEBOOKS

The Six Paramitas are Generosity (Dana), Morality (Sila), Patience (Ksanti), Diligence (Virya), Meditation (Dhyana) and Wisdom (Prajna). They are the six characters of Bodhisattva cultivation. The idea of the Six Paramitas notebooks is that Dharma practitioners can use them in daily life.

One set of the Six Paramitas Notebook contains six designs, and there are 1,800 pieces in total of first print. There is a hot foil stamping circle on the cover. The branches from the trees in IBS were used as a dip pen to dip in the baking soda and water to paint on the circle. Then the artist sanded the sketch down to different abstract images to create a unique cover of each notebook. It could inspire people to ponder the meaning of the image. It also reveals that everyone is unique. Half of the pages of the notebook are black and the other half are white. It implies that cultivating the Dharma requires constant efforts day and night.

Pencils and metallic permanent markers are recommended to use when writing on the black pages. The black pages also play the role of a guide to help practitioners calm their mind and slow down when writing. Opening the notebook, there is a Dharma teaching from the Abbot of IBS on the first page. All the design details of the IBS Six Paramitas Notebooks aim to be a good company of the Dharma practitioner every day.
