The Air Jordan 5 “Doernbecher” and all of its details are in dedication to Isaac Arzate, a talented young athlete who pitched a no-hitter in baseball and savored an undefeated season in basketball.
* In January 2012 Isaac suffered a cardiac arrest at basketball practice and was sent to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Here the doctors discovered a previously undetected abnormality, one of the most common causes for heart attacks in young people.
* During his surgery, he began sketching designs, details and his own experiences for an Air Jordan 5 Doernbecher as a part of 2012 Freestyle Program.

* In April 2012, A second heart attack struck Isaac, he suffered and died at the age of 12...

The Air Jordan 5 Doernbecher was completed with the help of Isaac's family from his original sketches. The shoe showcased his #9 baseball jersey number and #31 basketball jersey number. Here's a poem tagged inside of the sneakers :
