Project 2 - About Nouns

NOUNS - CAR
For our second project we are tasked to pick a noun out of a list of nouns that we somewhat felt attached to or had a relation to it. The goal of this project is to create a booklet that presents our nouns in many forms or relations. For my project, I chose "Car" for my noun (not because I like automotive) because I used to play racing games as a kid and the most Iconic one that I played as a kid was "Twisted Metal" back on the gamecube (not really a racing game but... close enough). First, we created a mind map that focuses on our nouns and broke it down into multiple categories. After that, we created 5 or more sketches that will be our lettermarks in the future. After we created our sketchs, we focused on picking one sketch and mounting them on a pink block to carve out our lettermarks.

Another part of the project was gathering 32 images or more and putting them in Photoshop to adjust them to grayscales. Also, we needed to adjust all the images to fit a 5 x 7" booklet and made sure they were 150 dpi. The next step was to bring all 32 images into Indesign where we then apply 2 inks and 2 page inks to our images. Once printed we had to bind our pages into a booklet, before binding make sure to apply your lettermark on your cover. (All Images used for this project are from Unsplashed.com, Pexels.com, and Google)

Colors I chose for my image inks were Red and Blue which represent police siren colors. Page colors I chose were yellow, light blue, and white due to the fact that my image colors were darker when I applied less radiant colors like pink, orange, and purple. For more information about how I setup my project here is my dropmark.

Sketches of my noun: Car
When making simple designs on the right, I started to incorporate the artistic side of my creativity and started making more pictorial illustrations where the letter "C" is more alive than not. I also added flames to my illustration due to the fact that some cars get paint jobs of flames on the side of their cars.
