My major project is a book which presents my own adaptation of «The Frog and the Ox» fable by Jean de la Fontaine, its new context in today's society and the impact that media have on women.
I have kept Jean de la Fontaine original version and have combined the 17th French language structure and the traditional narrative of the fable with a modern lay-out expected to draw the attention of a young feminine audience.
The project highlights the obsessive concern many girls and women have about their body whose aesthetical standards and models are imposed by aggressive advertising campaigns. The today's cultural context which makes citizens mere consumers evokes a priority for the appearance and superficiality on moral values. This is even more devastating with the uncontrolled development of the information and communication technologies which exacerbates the confusion between the real and the virtual.
In this project, I highlight the extent to which graphic design supports the advertising decision-makers aiming at the sole objective of profit.
