FLOYCE NAMAYI's profile

Guest House, Western Kenya

Tucked in the Western countryside , this project is a passion project to highlight the various sustainable building materials available to rural Africa. The structure is made of bricks made within the community. The ceiling is crafted from mud and bovine droppings in a century old technic particular to the Bantus.
The main concept of the space was to combine small luxuries in this simple structure to better connect nature with modern comfort. We kept everything very simple and toned down to better highlight the true star , the masonry.
