The Antioch Sarcophagus - Antioch, South East Turkey

This Roman sarcophagus was made in 3rd century AC.
The 10 tons of marble that was transported from another point of Anatolia was carved into the marvellous reliefs of mythical creatures, stories of life and love.
There were three skeletons that were found inside the tomb, belonging to a noble family, together with the precious jewellery and coins buried alongside them.
Today, the sarcophagus can be visited in Hatay Archeological Museum.
