Video: CSPD Telecommunications Recruiting
The Communications & Marketing Department at the City of Coral Springs created a powerful 1-minute recruiting video to aid in the recruitment of Public Safety Telecommunicators in April of 2021. This recruitment video highlights the importance of the work with a realistic portrayal.
Telecommunicators, 9-1-1 call takers, and dispatchers are the very first– first responders in Public Safety. This position requires compassion, authority, and the ability to communicate life-saving medical methods to fearful callers, all day- every day.
For the professionals, it’s not just a job, it’s a calling. Public Safety Telecommunicators have a high turnover rate. The candidate selection process, hiring practices, and rigorous training process does not always align well with job expectations. This video was created to give applicants the right expectations of the job functions and to honor their positions as first responders.
This recruitment video was created to aid the recruiting process by providing a realistic vision of the job function while promoting pride in public safety.
Our Human Resources Department has benefitted from a 10% increase on applications since the video aired on April 30, 2021. This video reached approximately 1,347 people on Facebook and Instagram combined. The achievements on this campaign have just begun, with long-term plans for continued social distribution we expect to see additional impact.
