Communicating and Visualising The Peninsula

Brief: Comunication and Visualization
I have been handed a brief on Comunication and Visulisation. As an individual i am required to submit an online multimedia solution. This will use the communcation and visulisation skills taught to us over the course unit, through which i will develop my own unique styles and aproaches.
Approach to the Peninsula

It all begins with me leaving my home from Kent, Swanley, BR8. I then drive heading towards dartford and heading towards the A2. This is where i leave the calm relaxing old area of country lanes and trees  and end up heading into the rush hour of busy traffic. The noisy horns to the smell of car fumes really bring on a head ache sensation. The seamlessly long but cramp road seems like a drag, but i carry on to make my way through to the peninsula.

I pass the junction to Peckham and carry on to the next just before the Blackwall tunnel, i have passed several speed cameras which really give the sense of that I'm really restricted. I then turn of onto a double roundabout and take the 3rd exit, I'm now located within the peninsula heading away from the O2 as everywhere is congested and 2 hour limited parking, parking on the peninsula feels as if I'm getting robbed legally. I make my way down a secreted one way system with free parking which is 30minutes walk from my destination which is Ravensbourne.

This small one way system is a bit nerve racking as you have no idea if a person could jump out and attempt to steal my laptop. The dinged, tight road and noisy scrap metal yard make this place as if its an abandoned area.

I make my way to the main road and this is where my 30minute walk journey begins heading to my located area (Ravensbourne). I head under a overhead bridge which consists of railway lines. Under this bridge carries a very dusty chalk/ashy smell which i’m guessing is quite dangerous. I start my photography from this very moment onwards towards to Ravensbourne.

Below is an image showing my journey to ravensbourne located on the Peninsula from Point A (BR8) to Point B (SE10).

Sketches through the Peninsula (1 Point Perspective)

Below are 10 sketches of my journey of walking through the Greenwich Peninsula. From looking at these sketches 1 point perspective sketches we notice the change in transition in whcih i have become aware in of changes in my imediate surroundings. I have noticed and noted down the chenge in lighting conditions, sound, materiality to different building types throughout.
This Drawing is a sketch using pen and pencil to show the change in contrast of the existing light from the start of my journey to Ravensbourne from entering the Peninsula. The Bridg of this area casts a real dimmed shade of darkness. The street light is on but still the light is dimmed. The construction yard to the right forms a mist of ash which producess toxic gassess which is clearly not good for the environment, or people around. This bridge to me is the line which segregaes the more perfect area (the peninsula) from the less developed area. There seems to be like a seperation from the old to the new. Beyond this point is the new.
Walking down this long path way to my destination has a sense of enclosure from the walls and building creating a small but legnthy path. This lengthy path sort of directs you either in or out of the peninsula towards of away from the O2 arena. The lighting is formed from the directon of the sun, there is not much shadow but bright as if the light is creating a sense of more space than what what there is. The construction site is to the right this causes a loud dissruptive tone/sound as if something is being hole punched. This makes this pathway dreadfull and cringy.
As i get out of the legnthy paths the Peninsular area becomes more open and becomes more busy as this area is the main tourist attraction hence the O2 arena, the airport is close, train and buss station too. The buildings cast a curved shaped to the direction of the wind. This area is almost at the central peninsula zone just in front.
Emirates is on my way to my destination to Ravensbourne which is owned by a big time company based in Dubai. This is basically another method of transport to cross the river thems. It is a great place to site see and have an overview/Hybrid view of the Peninsula. This area becomes crowded with families, students and tourists from all over the world.
This area is the centre of the Peninsula where everything popular on the peninsula is located. During the day and evenings this places is extremley crowded as it is the main tourist attracted area from the O2 arena, Art sculpture, to the shops and restaraunts. Its bright during and during the evenings the there is a really nice vibe from the differents types of sounds coming from restaraunts playlists and the LED futuristic lighting everwhere which really livens this place up during the Dark evenings.
This is a drawing of the structure of the pillars which show how the cable cars are being held up. I pass this when walking to ravesnbourne which will be loacte on my right hand side.
Video Clip: Peninsula

This short video clip identifies the main tourist attraction area and how this benefits Ravensbourne due to its popularity.
London Future Plans
This is a peace of photgraphy i had taken from an eurban exhibition in London from the New London Architecture at the Building Centre. This shows good research of how the peninsula will look within up to 20 years time from now.  As we can see from this model of a scale 1:1 everything looks as almost its becoming an "Architgram" as buildings and structures are begining to float for example the Emeriates is becoming futuristic as time comes and more condenced. The Peninsula is becoming more Popular world wide and crowded.
CAD Peninsula
This is a CAD versions of the peninsula map i have created to give abasic overview of te different strucure types which are loacted in the cetral of the Peninsula. The red highlighted structurees represent the main tourist attraction points of the Peninsula and the easy location of transport to this destination. This screen shot of the Peninsula locates Ravensbourne, the O2 Arena, Emirates, the Dock's, the Train and bus station.
Peninsula plan Drawing representing Circulation
This drawing of the Peninsula map is at a scale of 1:1250 and shows the circulation and flow of people throughout the peninsula transporting to and from. As we look in to this map in detail we notice how all the roads and path-ways all direct everyone straight towards the O2 arena its almost as if  the area was designed in this way. From research the Peninsula's Masterplan was designed in the urban form which is to provide the masterplan, which can guide development and support the planning process.

Photography through the peninsula (POV)

this structure here is quite fasicnating as it uses the old style of greek temples to supoport itself. the pillars .

Photography of  my journey through Ravensbourne to Level 7 (POV)

This is showing us my my journey within the building to my proposals area which is on level 7. As you can see i have just walked through the entrance of the Ravensbourne building contruct by "Forreign offic architects".
From the Image we notice that the entrance of Ravensbourne is very open a spacious, the light is great as we can see the building is light up throughout.
Drawings
These are my Drawing which show i have analysed the site and how the site is used.
As we can see i am going to place my proposal within level 7 and i wanted to create something very utopias as my assigned architect is Zaha Hadid, whcih is why i designing a dj booth which allows sound to flow down to level 4 which is an area of where students relax and become within there comfort zone.
