Sritture di strada
Scritture di strada è un progetto editoriale svolto per l università. Il brief consisteva nella ricerca e nell analisi di una forma di scrittura urbana. In questo lavoro ho presentato diversi annunci che ho trovato sparsi in tutta Roma, scegliendo quelli scritti in lingua romena, perche ho trovato la loro calligrafia composta da affascinanti grafemi a me nuovi e da una forte storia intrinseca nelle lettere, una storia che accomuna le origini e il trascorso di un popolo e della sua lingua.
Sfogliando le pagine a sinistra troviamo alcuni lettering rumeni arcaici raccolti precedentemente da Gustav Csech, permettendo cosi al lettore di coniugarli semanticamente alla calligrafia riportata negli annunci fotografati. Nonostante le due forme di “caratteri” siano completamente diverse, presentano forti assonanze fra loro, mettendo in luce numerosi segni rimasti invariati nel tempo, fornendo una sorta di richiamo al passato e alle origini culturali, parte di un bagaglio personale e identitario che ci accompagna dalla nascita, insito dentro di noi.
Scritture di strada is a publishing project developed for a university exam. The brief consisted in the research and analysis of a type of urban writing. In this work I introduced/presented different ads I had found around Rome, picking those written in Romanian because I found their calligraphy composed of fascinating graphemes that were new to me and marked by a strong history that brings together the origins and the memory of a populace and it’s language.
Going through the pages on the left we can find some Romanian archaic lettering previously collected from Gustav Csech, thus allowing the reader to semantically conjugate them to the calligraphy shown in the photographed ads.
Although the two types of “characters” are completely different, they present strong similarities, highlighting numerous signs that remained the same over time, providing a sort of reference to the past and to cultural origins, part of a personal and identitary experience that we are born with.
