Reimagine NY- Mental Health

The NYS Reimagine Campaign was a Governor-intiative to reimagine and rebuild New York State after the COVID-19 pandemic. A component of the campaign was focused on mental health.

Content Creation Process:
The NYS Office of Mental Health, when tasked with a goal of engaging community groups with mental health content, created a portfolio of resources for distribution. These resources included:
-  a series of Spotlight infographics highlighting the unique challenges faced by different marginalized communities,
- options for printable posters and fliers,
- a conversation tip sheet to help people feel more comfortable starting and responding to discussions about mental health,
- an informational handout that outlines common signs of emotional distress and gives anyone concrete and actionable steps to take to help someone in crisis
- a set of social media graphics organizations could share on their individual channels.

We knew the list of community organizations signing on to partner and distribute the content was diverse and comprehensive. Because we wanted these resources to be used by anyone from anywhere, we designed and developed them with a more general end-user in mind. We kept design elements and the language as simple as possible, while still being  inviting and usable.

The content can be downloaded from the campaign's website: https://forward.ny.gov/reimagine-mental-health and community organizations can also sign the pledge to join the campaign and distribute information to their constituents.
