A subject with a high conceptual construction and research value was determined under the supervision of Emre Yıldız and Uğur Altun. The knowledge acquired throughout the undergraduate program were tried to be reflected on the subject. In addition, techniques and materials considered to be personally safe were used in determining the subject. This project is intended to include an in-depth synthesis academically in terms of a graduation research. The subject contains information about the output obtained and how the study is carried out.

“Görgü Defteri” is a collage compilation of the clippings cut out from Ülkü Enlightened Rumi Calendar by Emin Mollaoğlu. This collage book, which is a find object, is called “Görgü Defteri” in accordance with the subject of the clippings cut out from the calender. Inspired by the contents of this special collection work, a unique design book was created in which genderist roles in etiquette rules are revealed. Clippings cut out from the calender, which are the source of the project, includes the reflection of the Turkish Republic’s early period modernist thought in the second half of the twentieth century. This chain of publication in which the ideal modern female image is projected also has a social role encouraged by the State. A visual representation of how women can have egalitarian roles is planned within this book by using illustration and collage methods and by opening a new window to the image of woman which is increasingly alienated and trying to discover its true self with the dogmas of modern life in a world dominated by the absurd gendered discourses of that period.

Emre Yıldız ve Uğur Altun danışmanlığında, lisans eğitimi boyunca edinilen bilgi ve birikimlerin yansıtıldığı, kişisel olarak güvenli hissedilen teknik ve materyallerin kullanılacağı; kavramsal inşaası ve araştırma değeri yüksek bir konu belirlendi. Bu projenin mezuniyet projesi olarak akademik anlamda derin bir sentez içermesi amaçlanmıştır. Üzerinde çalışılan konu, ana hatlarıyla çalışmanın nasıl yapıldığı ve varılan çıktılar hakkında bilgileri içermektedir.

Görgü Defteri, Ülkü marka saatli maarif takviminden Emin Mollaoğlu tarafından kesilen kupürlerin oluşturduğu bir kolaj derlemesidir. Kesilen kupürlerin konusuna uygun bir şekilde, bir buluntu nesne olan bu kolaj defteri de “Görgü Defteri” olarak adlandırılmıştır. Bu özel koleksiyon eserinin içeriğinden esinlenilerek, görgü kurallarındaki toplumsal cinsiyetçi rollerin göz önüne çıkarıldığı özgün bir tasarım kitabı oluşturulmuştur.
Projeye kaynak olan takvim kupürleri, yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin erken dönemine ait modernist düşüncenin yansımasını içermektedir. İdeal modern kadın imajının sahne aldığı bu yayın dizisi de, devlet tarafından teşvik edilen bir toplumsal rol inşasını muhafaza etmektedir. Bununla beraber İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrası Avrupa genelinde yaygın olan bir modernleşme dalgasının, diğer yayın organlarıyla birlikte dönem takvimlerine de yansıması görülmektedir.
Tasarlanan kitap ile, dönemin absürt cinsiyetçi söylemlerinin hâkim olduğu bir dünyada, gittikçe yabancılaşan ve modern yaşamın dogmalarıyla kimliğini bulmaya çalışan kadın imgesine yeni bir pencere açarak ve illüstrasyon ve kolaj yöntemleri kullanılarak; kadının eşitlikçi rollere nasıl sahip olabileceğinin görsel bir anlatımı planlanmıştır.

Attitude in the Family, “Egg Cup”, Eggs should be served within the egg cups at the breakfast table. The top of the egg is cut with a knife, salt is added and then the egg is eaten with a spoon.

Individual Disturbing Anxiety, “Snoring”, First it gets very hard to keep the eyelids open. Then the head nodds off and arms fall to the sides, and eventually snoring starts. This is quite an ugly and unpleasent scene.
