Goodbye Malaria is an initiative sponsored by The Global Fund and aimed at eradicating Malaria in Africa and the world by raising funds to buy mosquito nets for high risk groups. To represent this ambitious cause, the Citronella flower was chosen. Citronella is popular as a 'natural' insect repellent. Its mosquito repellent qualities have been verified by research, making it the ideal symbol for this cause. The flower itself is attractive and very distinctive. Over time the flower will become the recognised symbol for anti-malaria causes around the world. To reflect the multi-national nature of this cause, the logo changes to incorporate the language of the country it is operating in. But the message remains universal – Malaria’s days are limited. Credit to Jean Du Plessis in the initial creative stages of this project. Read Less
