The day after the 2013 NYC Mayoral Election, with the Open Society Foundation, we launched a pop-up experience to pioneer the first open transition in New York City. This program transforms the typically closed-door transition process between Election Day and the Inauguration into an opportunity for New Yorkers to make their voices heard. Through a suite of digital tools, we invited New Yorkers to visit and discuss neighborhood issues at the main tent on Canal St. and Sixth Ave., mobile tents popping up throughout the city, and the street teams making their way through all five boroughs.
