Hoan Kiem lake has an incredible legend. The legend relates to Le Loi, emperor of Vietnam and founder of the Hau Le dynasty. Its tell that the blade of the sword inscribed with the words “The Will of Heaven” came from the Dragon King in his underwater palace. A fisherman who later joined army caught the blade of the sword in his net. The hilt was found in a banyan tree by Le Loi himself. The stories claim that when Le Loi used the sword and it gave him the strength of thousands men.
