Hageshi Kawa | concept project

Hageshi Kawa
The name of the project is translated from Japanese (into Engish) as the Fiery river and symbolizes the tradition of launching paper lanterns with a burning candle inside. This tradition allows paying tribute to the ancestors and the past of their people. In this interior the river is represented by a neon tube making own way through the rock.
The interior is made in black color tints to emphasize the advantages of Japanese minimalism, make the sleeping area as close to night time and as private as possible. Another reason for choosing these color tints is desire to show that visualization of a completely black room - is not an impossible task at all. Combinig paper curtains, corrugated glass, bamboo and bonsai, we get a picture that contains modern minimalism and ascetic traditions of the past.
The main material of the interior is concrete, the favorite material of the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando. By the way, Tadao Ando is even called the “poet of concrete”. Smoked wood and rock at the head of the bed are in perfect harmony with concrete. In combination with bonsai plants, all elements maximally immerse the viewer in the nature, to organic textures.
