"Un an sub microscopul minții mele" ("A year under my mind's microscope") has depression as its main subject, one of the most widespread issue within our society. The project presents a real journal of a person diagnosed with this mental illness, written over a year from her recovery process in the form of a book. Due to the fact that the author expressed her frustrations very visibly, highlighting some paragraphs or crossing words out and scribbling some others in an aggressive way, I made the decision to keep and highlight these interventions with visually strong calligraphic representations. My original contribution is the way I chose to visually translate this very intimate content with unedited notes in the way that any reader could easily and strongly understand the message and emotions behind those words. The project encourages, through a personal and unfiltered example, debating this mental illness.
