Graceful Space
Graceful or gracefulness usually related to movement of an object or living things. For example, the movement of a ballerina, the movement of a dancing bird or swan or it can also be the movement of something that happen naturally or unconsciously. Besides that, the word graceful can also describe something that has a beautiful look. Like, the “graceful” Japanese cherry tree or the “graceful” water fountain. Therefore, based on the word that I received “graceful” I came up with the idea to capture bubbles. Most of us are fascinated by the bubbles since we were kid. But we never really see and observe closely the beauty within the rainbowy sphere. The moment I was capturing the bubbles, it takes me back to the moment where I saw soap bubbles for the first time when I was a kid. It is so mesmerizing, the longer I watch the bubbles surface the prettier it become. With the combination of many different colors and the dark background that I use for the photoshoot, the bubbles look like an exotic planet.

I always love to watch sci-fi movies, documentaries, like how our galaxy form and how beautiful it can be up there. When I look at the bubbles, I started to think about the space, the possibilities of us humans to travel through space like how we see in movies. It is fun to think, we live in a planet called earth, in a galaxy called milky way and there are hundreds and thousands of other planets and galaxies that we discovered as far as we can see with technology nowadays. The fact that our universe literally expanding each and every seconds just make it more interesting. I’d love  to believe that there are other “life” out there, our universe is massive compared to earth and it still expanding. To think that there are no other life other than us humans is unacceptable for me. I might sound crazy but, remember that despite we’ve been living on earth for 2-3 million years, there are 65% of earth that we are yet to discovered. And our scientist discovered new species every year.
Space can also be a scary place. Imagine being in space alone, its huge but empty, its full of stars but it will still be dark. But, there are always something beautiful hidden within anything in this world. Like our space, it might look scary but try to look at the stars at night, the moon and the milky way. It will never bored us. Same as the sea, some of us scared of the deep ocean because it is so big and there are huge creatures living in it, including me I am scared of the deep ocean but I know and acknowledge the beauty of it. Imagine walking by the beach during the sunsets, and the marine life with colorful colors like the corals and fish. Same goes with our life. We can always see the beautiful side of someone if we really look for it. There is no people in this world that born with pure evil. There is good in bad and there is bad in good ,like “Yin yang”.

So, in summary, my writing above is how and what I felt when I capture the images of the bubbles that imitate the look of an exotic planet. The gracefulness of the bubbles color that naturally form is something that I will remember. Overall, I was really having fun in portraying the word “graceful” into pictures.

How I made the photos.
