The Grand Circle Road trip

Since we are moving away from our daily routine, spend more time indoors, cut off our connection to our family and friends due to the pandemic. The isolation brings us feelings of stress but also gives us an opportunity to connect or reconnect, with nature.

I took a road trip after quarantine at home for a whole year for the reason I want to change a scene.

Drove on the broad road, camped under the sky, observed the wildlife in the vast outdoors, nature is so healing to help me be more creative and happier.

This project was inspired by the National parks in the United States during this trip, which included THE GRAND CIRCLE and part of California National Parks.

ROAD TRIP

The Grand Circle Road Trip is one of the most famous National Parks road trips in United States.

The trip is predominantly in the state of Utah but crosses into Arizona as well.

This route offers some of the most stunning scenery you can possibly imagine.

California boasts nine national parks, and each has its own unique appeal.

For this road trip, I started from Joshua Tree, California to THE GRAND CIRCLE.

After finished the Grand Circle road trip, I headed to Death Valley and Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks, made the road trip circle happened.

From sketch to model

These images are inspired by the National Parks' scenes during the road trip.

I drew rough sketches on paper when on the trip, highlight the most charming and special part of every national park, like the history, geology, landmark, flora, animals, and so on.

After collecting materials from every park, I started modeling these parks, also combined different textures into my design work which derived from this road trip experience.
