This project aims to make the unfamiliar world of food additives more accessible through the design of a reference book and an app. The book documents every additive approved in Australia and New Zealand and provides information about what they are, what they are made from and their purpose. The app contains the same content as the reference book but has been designed with a shopping context in mind.
Accompanying the factual information are playful visual metaphors and bizarre-but-true written content designed to make the otherwise dry information, more engaging and communicative.
