The Gentle Adventures of Coconoe Joe
Coconoe Joe is the star of a comic I have created. He is an adventurer and explorer, searching for secrets and treasures and self-discovery in mysterious lands. Here I present the video game I created for one of his adventures, set in a mysterious underground desert dungeon. I imagined an old 8-bit arcade adventure, the kind you would find in the early days of the Famicom console, with limited graphics, animations and colours. This was the vibe I felt suited best this character and world, it is also my favourite kind of game art to make. It was very challenging but very fun to start to learn how to make videogames, to bring this world to life. Also included is my entry for Famicase 2016, which was the imagined cartridge of this very game!
