Old Pilot's London Dry Gin

Old Pilot’s Gin is Croatian craft gin produced by the micro-distillery “Duh u boci”. Since the distillery is run by two pilots. It was decided to use this unique opportunity and fully develop the aviation theme for the packaging.

For the main visual element, I used the silhouette of Douglas dc-3’s (one of the most iconic planes in the history of aviation).The copper foil was an obvious choice since the gin is traditionally made in copper stills and the botanical pattern visible in the copper reflects the botanical elements in the gin itself. Also, present on the label is a second visual element printed with a thick uv coating which is shaped like a compass, containing the aeronautical symbol for a landing strip with aviation fuel available. Among other details, there are box elements (intended for marking the bottles by hand), which are inspired by symbols found in aeronautical charts.
